Signups ending early – NOW CLOSEDJune 11, 2007 at 2:28 pm | Posted in Doll Quilt Swap, Swaps | 4 Comments
Thank you for your overwhelming response! Signups for DQS II are now CLOSED (6/11/07)
As enrollment in Doll Quilt Swap II nears 100 swappers, we have to announce an early end to registration. We’d originally planned for the signup period to last until Father’s Day, but we’ve become a victim of our own popularity! Therefore, when the number of swappers reaches 100, registration for this round will close. There are currently 9 openings left in the swap.
We have mixed feelings about this, as of course we’d would love to be able to include everyone who wants to join in. The people who are signing up for this round seem every bit as enthusiastic and friendly as last time; however, 100 swappers is more than triple (nearly four times!) the number from the first swap, and administering all the swap details has become prohibitively time-consuming. We still want to be able to address all the questions and needs of the swappers with the same promptness and personal attention as before, but there’s only so much of us to go around!
swap fairy quilt for monica from wendy n.
DQSII is so thrilled to welcome Wendy N. as a much-needed and appreciated co-hostess for this round. Some of you may know her through Whiplash or the Doll Quilt CrAzY and Doll Quilt Challenge groups, for her Disappearing Nine-patch quilts. She was also Monica’s Swap Fairy, even though she wasn’t even a participant in the first round! Wendy has already proven herself a dedicated and invaluable member of the Doll Quilt Swap team. Angela has decided to sit this swap out as a Swap Mama, although we’re pleased she’s still able to participate as a swapper.
We would love to add 2 or 3 more Doll Quilt Swap Mamas to our number. Having more people would lighten the load and make the swap run more smoothly for everyone involved. Are any of you interested in helping out? Please send an e-mail to the address at the top of the sidebar over there –> if you are interested in:

Using wordpress.com for your own blog would be helpful, but it’s not required. You just need a willing spirit and a dash of tech savvy and I (Lisa K.) will take care of any training or instructions you might need!
Thanks to all of you out there for your understanding, for your overwhelming enthusiasm for these little quilts, and for your willingness to join our swap. We cannot call it our “little” swap anymore, but together we hope to maintain the friendly community started our first go ’round. We are sorry, in advance, for those who will not be able to join in, but we’ll do our best to make the current swap super-fun and make plans for another in the fall.
p.s. Thanks, too, to all of you who mentioned the swap on your blogs. Would you mind editing your posts to reflect the new 100-person limit, if you happened to mention the 17th as the deadline? Thank you.
