A Progress Report!

With only a few weeks to go, thought I’d share some progress shots from my group!

Marilyn has a yummy selection of fabrics.

Amanda is doing some 9 patches.

This beauty from Alison is already on its way to it’s new home.

I can hardly believe some quilters are finished so soon with their dqs5 quilts ! Wow ! I’ve looked around at what my group has shown us and found these from diddledaddledesigns, Michelle Brown and TLHCrawford.

These early birds are inspiration to me ! Now I need to get a plan in my head and start sewing too ……

Everyone has been sent their partner’s information and I am flabbergasted (and maybe that word doesn’t even express just how incredibly amazed and shocked I am), but some of our swappers have already FINISHED their partner’s quilts!!!

Very impressive, people.

In case you’re interested in adding a button to your blog, showing that you are a part of this swap, I am uploading the image here. I have no clue how to get it to work on any blogs other than blogger, but I’m sure our other mamas will step in and help me out (yoohooo, oh Helen….).

Now, I need to get crackin’ on my design for my partner (who will go nameless – of course!).

As round four of the ever-popular doll quilt swap is ending, we are excited to announce sign-ups for Round Five!!! We have a wonderful team of swap mamas helping out and will take sign-ups until we reach 150 swappers. This is going to be our largest group yet, which is a worthwhile challenge. Please help us out by following our guidelines and meeting our deadlines.

Before signing up, please look over the following requirements. If you would like to join and can agree to the following, we would love to have you join us!

- This is a secret swap.

- Sign ups to begin on October 1^st.

- Quilts due on December 1^st. (delivery confirmation preferred, international swappers please ship early)

- Swappers must have a blog or flickr account

- Please send something that is of a quality that you would like to receive.

- SIZE: from 12×12 to 24×24…any size or shape in between.

- MATERIALS: natural fibers/cotton, wool, linen, etc.

- Are you willing to send international?

- Flickr URL

While you are busy drooling over those beauties, I thought I’d also put in a special request. Please email your swap mama when you have sent your quilt off and please be sure to post at the group (you can email us too if you’d like) once you receive your quilt. It is challenging to keep up with where everyone is at in the process, so any help you can give will be most appreciated.

Progress report – 7/13

Hi, swappers and interested observers! It’s been 5 weeks since most of you found out who your partner is. How is your quilt progressing? There’s just under a month left for those of you mailing to international partners; please be sure put in the time you need to, so that we can have happy senders (i.e., not rushed or apologetic) and happy receivers ( not languishing at the mailbox). Those sending to local folks still have about 7 weeks left.

So, on to the updates! Many of the quilters in our group have made some great progress:

Rebecca finished (yes, you read that right – FINISHED) in record time, and her quilt has ALREADY made it to lucky Amy of the Calico Cat. It’s a fantastic appliquéd bird on the stripy-est tree you ever did see. Amy plans to install the quilt in the bedroom of the Calico Kitten, her baby-to-be!

Amy, for her part, has been a thimble-making machine! She’s made hundreds, and has used them in several quilts. Her partner’s sure to love those darling repro prints. Here’s a link to her photo.

Another super-speedy quilter is Patty, whose colorful apple and pear quilt has made Jody a happy swapper.

And what a cute label she printed and embroidered!

Jody has been sewing away on her quilt, too. I love how the shadows really make those gorgeous fabrics pop!

Never fear, swappers: not everyone has completed her project yet. Many are still in the planning and sewing stages.

Donna has pulled a stack of inspiring prints from her stash. I wonder what they will become?

Elizabeth has appliquéd a fantastic squirrel. She really makes me want to work on a wool quilt! I wanted to add that her blog, A Quilting Life, is a new addition to the sidebar. Bad Swap Mama me missed her earlier on!

Leah has been auditioning different arrangements for her blocks on her design wall. How will she choose? They’re all stunning.

Sami’s Asian quilt is coming together nicely. I didn’t see the hexagons at first, but there they are! Marvelous prints, those.

Tanner has posted not only progress photos of a pretty floral quilt, but a clever tip for keeping your quilts-in-progress organized. Thank you!

And I’m so excited to see that Trisha’s working on one of my favorite kinds of quilts. Do you know what it is? If you don’t, you’re in for a wonderful surprise when we see more progress photos. Her partner’s in for a treat.
